DreamFactory 7.1.1 Is Here: A New Era of Secure AI Data Access Begins

Written by Kevin McGahey | July 11, 2025

We’re excited to announce the release of DreamFactory 7.1.1 — a milestone update that lays the foundation for AI-powered data integration while continuing to build on our mission of secure, no-code API generation.

At the heart of this release is a sneak peek of our upcoming AI Data Gateway: a powerful capability designed to help organizations safely expose backend data to AI tools, platforms, and agents — all with the enterprise-grade security and governance you've come to expect from DreamFactory.

 AI Data Gateway (Preview)

In this release, we’re introducing the building blocks of a feature that will let you:

  •  Expose datasets to AI tools with RBAC protection

  •  Connect seamlessly to LLM ecosystems like OpenAI, Claude, LangChain, and more

  •  Power chat-based analytics, AI copilots, and ML pipelines

  •  Enforce fine-grained, zero-trust data access policies

This capability is currently in early access, but it’s already generating excitement among our customers using DreamFactory for intelligent automation, internal data products, and secure AI orchestration.

Stay tuned — the full rollout is coming soon.

What Else is New in 7.1.1

In addition to the AI preview, DreamFactory 7.1.1 brings key improvements across the platform:

  •  Updated dependency libraries and security patches

  •  Improved test coverage for API endpoints

  •  Enhancements to system database migrations for self-hosted users

  •  Fixes and refinements across API generation and scripting workflows
