Terence Bennett - March 3, 2016At DreamFactory we’re passionate about open source, APIs, and about the technologist communities we work in. As part of our drive to help make technology more diverse and accessible, we’re proud to be sponsoring the 2016 Rails Girls Summer of Code.
Rails Girls is a global community aiming to help women move into working with technology through free volunteer-led weekend workshops and events. Their Summer of Code initiative was developed to help participants who wanted to move past a weekend workshop by providing three month paid internships where learners can work on open source projects.
The Summer of Code is open to female-identified technologists who have taken a weekend workshop from Rails Girls or similar non-profit education providers. Teams can apply for consideration into the program until March 15th, 2016. If you want to help out there are opportunities to coach or mentor a Summer of Code team. You can also donate through their crowdfunding campaign or join us as a sponsor.
Good luck to all of the 2016 applicaticants and SoC teams. We can’t wait to see what you build.
